Hey Everybody,
Quick email to let you to know we made it safely to Ust and got to see
Toby yesterday. The great news is that he totally remembered me! it
was wonderful seeing him, the best was looking at photos and having
him say very clearly "mommy", "daddy", "ata", "apa" (words for grandma
and grandpa) :-D Will go this morning to take him out of the Baby Home
forever.
The not so great news is that apparently the Shiny River was
completely booked,so we are not staying there. Very disappointing that
I can't share that familiar part of my experience in Ust with Amanda.
:-( We're at another nice hotel, but the internet is very slow and i'm
barely able to email. Can't get on blogger at all or check messages in
Facebook. hopefully things will be better in Almaty and i'll be able
to post/send some photos from there. ah flexibility!
Took Amanda to the Russian Restaurant last night, one of our faves.
she loved it. Had a fairly decent sleep last night, which is good b/c
barely slept two hours in Almaty. Hopefully will meet up with some of
the old translators/friends here tonight. (Olga, Dinara, Aya...)
Hope to post more later. for now know all is well and we're doing just fine.

Such exciting times for you guys!! Can't wait for you and Toby to get home to Rob and start living as a family of 3!
