sporting the fashions, and other favorites

i thought i'd devote a post to fashion.

now, some days Toby arrived to us looking fairly put-together and quite well-matched--the work, we assumed, of one of the younger, more fashion-conscious caregivers:

but then, there were other days:

i mean, i agree, he looks very good in these colors, but, really?

and, a few personal favorites...
TextureBoy:

and TigerBoy:

and you will notice quite a few hats on Toby. this is due to a wide-spread paranoia in Kaz (and apparentally across all Eastern Europe) about drafts.

personally, i think Toby looks good in hats; they frame his cute little face quite nicely. but there were a few that were not so becoming...
poor Tobes, he looks like a garden gnome!

here's a few other shots of Toby that i can't resist including for personal enjoyment. this was the day we introduced him to "Leo the Lion", a hand puppet i had as a kid. it was the first day we really saw him smile and giggle; he was quite taken with Leo and liked to wear him on his own hand:

after this he'd occasionally go about the room wearing Leo, even though he couldn't really pick up toys with that hand.

Today our translator sent me a photo of Toby at his class's little New Year's program:

he's so cute, but i think he looks sad.

oh Toby Rasul...i am missing you terribly today...

  1. LOL! Boy the clothing is the same from baby house to baby house isn't it?! I'd say at least 50% of the time Maverick was dressed in pink. Greg made me check for boy parts our second bonding day since day one he was in pink!! It was funny the other night I got Maverick ready for bed, and he had on a blue print onesie, and red print jammies. The onesie was sticking out the top of the jammies...and I thought of the baby house right away!! =)

  2. Cute post....love all the outfits. He still looks like a little gentleman. Praying that your days apart go by fast and that you'll be reunited with your little sweetie.
