sushi night and other december events...

Earlier in December Kaleem and Charity, friends from LifeSpring, joined us for supper just a week-and-a-half before their wedding in Pittsburgh. We had a really fun evening together! Here Charity is showing us the proper way to cut a mango. :-) We haven't heard anything from them yet, but we assume they are happily married off now.

We also enjoyed a fun night of sushi-making over at the Kempfs. Tied for Big Event of the Evening status was who can handle the hottest wasabi, and who can make Talia frown the biggest.  (A bit of a joke really; we weren't trying to make her frown--but she wasn't in the most chipper of moods. Still terribly cute though.:-] )

The Kempfs, the Hustons, and the Mieraus...

Rob got out his trumpet to join some of the guys at church for some Christmas carols. I love when he get his trumpet out - usually about once a year. He however hates the whole lip-reconditioning process. ;-p

And last but not least...it really should be noted that 2009 became the year rob became quite the handy-man,  saving us all kinds of money by fixing all kinds of stuff around the house, including sleuthing and fixing our mystery Honda Accord problem (which turned out to be the main relay needing to be replaced), fixing the bathroom sink, replacing the front door handle, unclogging the drain pipes/garburator, and most recently sleuthing and then replacing the internal oven thermometer--thus putting an end to my three-week moratorium on oven use. Notice the smugly satisfied Garfield Grin...

You Go Baby!
