week 2's dose of daily photos of Toby...
December 7
today was pink jacket day again. ;-p on our first or second day with Toby we had given him crayons and some paper, and he just drew straight line after straight line. he seemed so scared! we thought it was a little odd, but that it was probably just that he was unsure of himself. we pulled out the crayons and paper again this day, and we were so happy when he immediately started drawing nice loops and squiggles - to us that was just a huge sign that he was so much more free and comfortable with himself (and us) than a week before. yay!
we also pulled out the lotion for toby's dry little legs and feet and discovered this cute little birthmark. i think toby was a little intrigued that we were playing with his feet, i'm sure he's never got this kind of personal attention before. he learned to like putting lotion on us too.
love that little hand.
my busy little boy. we all loved the way the baby home babies would just back up and plunk down on your lap. i suppose that's normal for that age, i just love it.
check it out: Toby has tears in his eyes after another mandatory photo with the social worker!
Toby was all over these toddler markers i brought, but they were disastrous! hard for a kid to hold, and very messy. i threw them away. i don't know how they ever passed inspection!
December 9
lots of good photos today, even though our Toby was in the same outfit. :-)

this was also my "two-boy"day! i think this photo is really funny b/c little Sammy is slowly squeezing poor Toby off of my lap. ;-p Karen, Sam's new mom, and i are determined that our little guys will grow up knowing each other and seeing each other frequently. they live in Cincinnati.

they were taking passport photos of our kids right there in the room, so we put Toby in one of our outfits. he was a little scared at first, but he did GREAT when they actually took the photo.

December 10
yet another lovely family photo with Toby sporting girls' clothes and mommy and daddy in double-chin-hiding facemasks. ;-p
i remembered that when Toby came in that day he was crying a little bit cuz the caretaker had to take a truck away from him in order to get his diaper on. (see the video from my previous post.). after that he just seemed to want to cuddle. when i eventually tried to put him down by the toys he fussed and clung to me, so we sat here on the ledge till he was ready to play. fine with me baby Tobes!!! :-)December 11
this is photo-journalism at it's best. or at least it's "rawest". ;-p
toby and daddy talk it over.
they agree that this will the first day that Toby goes over to the green bag to peruse the toys himself. first up, however, is lotion time with mommy. look at that cute little baby torso!

| the kazakh display in Toby's room. sadly, they very quickly disassembled this lovely display when we and another couple arrived with our gift to the home, a new TV that they had requested. :-( |
